WELCOME! MEET SOME OF THE WOMEN IN THE BUTTERFLY CIRCLE....

Our next book - AWAKENING TO THE EXTRAORDINARY YOU! By Kayite Ashcraft

I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am to invite you to engage in our next book discussion. We are welcoming our very own Kayite (pronounced KATE) to share her new book, Awakening to the Extraordinary You! Not only does Kayite Ashcraft have a magnificent story to tell, she beams her magnificence through everything she does.

I met Kayite at a Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God) retreat in Asheville, North Carolina in the spring of 2007. This "Freedom Retreat" as it was called was life changing for myself as well as for Kayite. In the months that followed, Kayite, Cat, Claire, Maggie (also retreat attendees) and myself started a mastermind group in which we would meet via conference call line once per week to share our journey with each other.

This group became a place where we each had the freedom to express all of who we are. We shared laughs and tears. We grieved with one another and rejoiced in each other's victories. The "freedom circle" as we called it became the safest place we could all be. It was in the circle that Kayite shared her adventures of Jacob. Can I tell you how exciting THAT was? If you're not quite clear about Jacob, you'll just have to read the book. Trust me, you will be glad you did.

Please order your book now so that we can begin our book discussion before Kayite get's too busy traveling and such.

Follow Kayite on Twitter: http://twitter.com/livejoy

Thanks for your presence and participation.

Love,
Melinda

It is said that you cannot simultaneously feel anger and gratitude or hatred and gratitude or fear and gratitude.  In other words, the feeling of gratitude is powerful enough to dissolve every negative emotion.  For this reason, our creative power a…

To me, it means that I allow the work to be done IN me.  It means it does not matter what others do or say, only how I respond to the world around me.  It means I can experience life abundantly, beautifully, fully no matter what others are doing or…

Thank you, Maggie. Wow, I just read an excerpt from that book and I want it. I think that's a great suggestion. I LOVE Marianne Williamson. Her teachings are so simple AND profound. Thanks again, Melinda

I think this is one of the questions I have pondered for a long time.  And I suppose it's not really a question of "can" you as much as it is a question of "how" you do this.  I'd love to hear your thoughts.~Melinda

How do you resurrect a dead butterfly.....???

How do you resurrect a dead butterfly...???

Very gently, I think. You can guess that it's not an actual butterfly I'm talking about but this Butterfly Circle. It has been quite a year for me and for everything I had my hands in. I started a blog recently about women reinventing themselves and I realize that has been my purpose since day one: to embrace this process of reinvention. And I suppose if a person can be reinvented, so can a website.

In the year plus since I first crea… Continue

If You Know What's Good For You....

If you know what's good for you....

This is not the first time you've heard that phrase, is it? Normally it is expressed by an adult who is attempting to compel a rembunctious child from continuing down an unwise path. Children are told they will stop goofing around, start doing their homework, stop playing with their food....if they know what's good for them. But what about us grown-up children? When there's no one around to insist that we do what's good for us, what do we do?

I think the bea… Continue

What is a MOM?

I've taken today to do exactly what I wanted to do. For me this usually means getting up and going to church to gather up my faith, as Don Miguel Says. I've spent most of the day on the sofa with my books, my laptop and a "Sunday Best" marathon on BET. Today, what felt motherly was giving Nick a chance to feel special, by allowing him to do something special for me. You know we usually associate being a mom with someone who (at times tirelessly) gives and supports others. Today I am reminded tha… Continue
